Alumni Spotlight: Kendall Banks

Would you share a few lines about JUPS and your time in JUPS: I could never have predicted how much JUPS would impact my life and career trajectory when I first started the program. Not only did the program offer me an inspiring and meaningful community to be a part of at Georgetown, but it also gave me purpose. I was a part of something much bigger than myself, and with the tools and education I gained from the program, I was on the path to doing all that I could to make a difference in the world. I feel fortunate to have been at Georgetown when the JUPS program was just getting started, and I look forward to seeing how it continues to grow and make a positive impact for fellow students.

Share a few lines of what you have been up to: Since I graduated with a major in JUPS, I have had the opportunity to work for international humanitarian organizations, local non-profit organizations, and in the corporate social responsibility space. Through the unique lens and tangible skills I learned in the JUPS program, I was able to grow into an executive role at my most recent non-profit organization, helping to double the annual number of people served by identifying strategic areas of expansion through program development and affordable housing projects. After being in non-profit work for 7 years, I transitioned into corporate social responsibility. I currently lead the corporate social responsibility, diversity equity and inclusion, employee engagement, and internal communications departments for a thriving FinTech company where we are committed to building a global program of sustainable social impact.
