Leading Expert on Restorative Justice to Give a Training in JUPS Program
Please join Prof. Elham Atashi and Prof. Tarek Maassarani for an evening of Dialogue and Skills Training on Restorative Justice as a tool of Conflict Transformation.
Professor Tarek Farouk Maassarani is a lecturer in the field of peacebuilding at American University and an adviser to the Dialogue Development Group. He also provides dispute resolution services, including mediation, dialogue facilitation, training, peace education, and legal representation, to organizations, schools, and members of the local DC community. On an international level, Tarek has practiced and published on international human rights law, produced a documentary film on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and carried out educational and community development projects in Africa and the Middle East. Tarek holds a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School for International and Public Affairs, a J.D. from Georgetown University, as well as a B.S. in Environmental Studies and B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
